As CES (Consumer Electronics Show will be hold on next Tuesday in Las Vegas. It is a showcase for the latest innovations in smart televisions, tablets, digital cameras and more digital gadgets.

We will see a continuation of major trends that took significant leaps in 2011: cloud-based services, voice controls and gesture-driven interfaces, fast 4G mobile networks, mobile payment options, tablets. You'll probably also see further innovation in such technologies as glasses-free 3-D and augmented reality.

What can you expect for 2012?

OLED
It provides more accurate color rendition, faster response speed and smaller volume than LCD / LED. OLED has never been introduced into television industry, but things will change in this 2012 CES. The new television of LG equips a 55-inch OLED, 1016-inch in thickness, 16.5 pounds in weight. Its response time is less than 0.0001 milliseconds (a normal one is 2-5 milliseconds).

Quad-core smart phone
Get preparation for the smart phone with the configuration of the NVDIA Tegra 3 and Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 quad-core CPU.

Windows 8
Windows 8 is coming in 2012, with a "beta" promised in February, and the first full versions likely hitting later in the year. Windows 8 should make things very interesting, and not just for what we think of as traditional keyboard / mouse-based personal computers but for touch-capable tablets as well.

4K high-definition display
4K is not 4 kilobyte but 4 times higher resolution than 1080P. LG plans to show an 84-inch Internet-function 4K high-definition 3D television.

Ice-cream Sandwich
Google announced the latest version of Android (Ice-cream Sandwich). Things will be different from 2011, Motorola Xoom is the only one who runs on Android Honeycomb OS in 2011, but now in 2012, any manufacturers who need Ice-cream Sandwich will get it.
