How to Unlock DVD Region on Windows and Mac Computer

Watching DVD movies on computer is great, but when the DVD disc’s region code doesn’t match the code of your DVD drive, it will fail to play. DVD drive is used to access data on a disc. It usually is set to a specific region code so that it can only read DVDs from the region where it originated. Fortunately, there is a simple way to unlock the DVD region on your computer.
DVD region unlock on Windows
1.      1. Click “Start” and “My Computer”.
2.      2. Right click the DVD you want to unlock and choose “Properties”.
3.      3. Choose “Hardware” tab from the top menu. Choose the DVD drive from the list. Then select "Properties"
4.      Select “DVD Region” tab and choose the region of the DVD. Select "OK", and the DVD region is unlocked. 

DVD region unlock on Mac
1.      1. Insert a DVD into the drive.
2.      2. Select the DVD region code by following the window prompts.

It is easy to unlock the DVD region, but just notice that the region can be only changed for five times and after that the DVD drive’s region will be permanently locked to the region you last set. Thus, you will need a region free DVD player which will play any DVD from any region including 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.
